Yemen is not a member of the Apostille Convention, therefore US documents to be used in Yemen must be legalized by the Embassy. Depending on the type of document, obtaining a certified copy or a notarization is the necessary first step. The process continues with authentication at County and State level. The document is then sent to Washington D.C. for further attestation by the National U.S.-Arab Chamber of Commerce and U.S. Department of State. The legalization is finally completed at the Embassy.
